LWCF provides matching grants to assist in the planning, acquisition, and development of state and local parks.
Property acquired or developed with the assistance of LWCF funds shall remain as public outdoor recreation in perpetuity unless approved by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior.
Guidelines
Eligible projects include property acquisition and development of outdoor recreation facilities.
Planning, operations and maintenance, and programming costs are not eligible.
All projects require a 50% non-federal match.
How to Apply
Applicants apply to the WV Community Advancement and Development Division.
Applications are usually accepted one time per year, normally in the fall of each year, with a deadline for applications at the end of January.
Additional rounds of funding may be announced as needed to obligate all available funding.
