SNAP provides monthly benefits to help eligible households buy food.  Eligibility to receive benefits is based on household size, income, assets and some household expenses as determined by the federal government by the WV DHHR and governed by federal law and regulations of the US Department of Agriculture, Food Nutrition Services. Medicaid (Insurance)

WV Works provides monthly cash assistance to eligible families.  Eligibility is based on  (1) Financial Eligibility - Family Gross Income and (2) WV WORKS  program requirements

The Bureau for Child Support Enforcement establishes paternity (a legal determination of the father of the child) and support and enforces support from a child's parent.  The Bureau also enforces court orders for spousal support or alimony.
